The branches I view reach for the sky
like the arms of man during sun salutations,
and with their natural frequency so high,
I begin to ponder their soul’s meditation.
They only soak in what they need to survive,
and in turn give back for what they have taken.
They don’t spend their free time with plans to contrive,
and instead spend their days in pure relaxation.
I envy how effortlessly they sway in the breeze
with each dancing leaf singing The Way’s melody,
and the more I listen it becomes clear to me
that their deep understanding is born from simplicity.
They don’t waste their life searching for meaning;
therefore, we should all practice the tree’s way of being.
