Mallorca has many beaches, towns, and coves (known as “Calas”), and it can be overwhelming to pick where to stay. If you want access to affordable rentals, fewer crowds, fantastic restaurants, and stunning scenery, then Cala Santanyí might be the perfect place for you to spend your Mallorca vacation. I stayed in Cala Santanyí with my sister for 3 nights, and we had an immaculate time. In this post, I dive deeper into why you should consider Cala Santantyí as your home base during your visit to Mallorca.

The cove is aesthetically pleasing with stunning views
What is the point of visiting Mallorca if you can’t bask in the beauty of pristine coves and beaches? I have seen many stunning photos of Mallorca, and Cala Santanyí looked just how I had hoped it would. It’s a cove with bright teal water, pine-laced cliffs, and rustic fisherman’s cabins that line the water’s edge. A short walk around the cove will also lead you to Torre Nova and a viewpoint of dramatic coastline cliffs that will amaze you.
There are affordable rentals for all budgets
My sister and I stayed at Hostal Playa, which was fine. It was extremely inexpensive, but the savings were reflected through lack of amenities like air conditioning and toiletries. However, many fantastic and affordable rentals are available in Cala Santanyí for as low as $100 a night. Whether you are looking for an affordable apartment or a villa, Cala Santanyí has many accommodations.
There are many great restaurants in Cala Santanyí
You won’t have to worry about where to eat in Cala Santanyí. I was pleased with the amount of restaurants within walking distance. Restaurante Voramar and Hostal Playa were the most memorable to me due to their delicious food and fantastic views. I advise making dinner reservations as soon as possible because the restaurants can fill up quickly!
The crowds are reasonable
It would be foolish to suggest that Cala Santanyí is some barren hidden gem. The beach here will have plenty of people, especially during peak season. However, I never had issues finding a spot to sit on the beach and never felt overcrowded while swimming. When I view articles and content relating to coves in Mallorca, Cala Santanyí isn’t usually mentioned, which makes it a little less known than some of the more popular coves and beaches in Mallorca. Of course, the sooner you arrive to the beach, the better your chances of getting the spot you want.
Cala Santanyí is in a great location to explore other coves and towns
If you want to venture out of Cala Santanyí, many other coves and towns are nearby to explore. Cala Santanyí is nestled between Cala Llombards and Cala Figuera, which are two popular coves to explore. It is also close to the town of Santanyí, which oozes the bohemian charm associated with Mallorca. Additionally, both Palma and Sóller are both only about an hour drive away.
While there are many great places to stay in Mallorca, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Cala Santanyí and hope I was able to help you decide if this cove is right for you.

Such wonderful places to take a holiday and only pay 100 dollars a night. This really is an opportunity for anyone to have an amazing holiday without breaking the bank.
